During the last week of the academic year, for 48 hours, members of the Student Workshop were Charlie’s Angels. Charlie’s Angels is a fundraising initiative started by Emma Brodzinski. Her five year old daughter, Charlotte, is one of triplets and has cerebral palsy.
Charlotte is the daughter of Emma Brodzinski, one of the staff members in RHUL's Drama Department. Charlotte is one of triplets and was born premature at 29 weeks. A lack of oxygen to her brain after birth means that Charlotte has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and, as well as having limited movement in her arms and legs, Charlotte has difficulties with her vision, eating and talking. It is therefore a bit of a challenge for Charlotte to do what her brothers and most other five year olds are doing: there is some brilliant equipment out there to help but it is a bit pricey!
We hope to raise money for Charlotte who needs specific equipment to make living with cerebral palsy easier. Ten volunteers from the Student Workshop were tied to one other person from 6pm on Wednesday 8th June and were joined to that person until Friday 10th June at 6pm. During this 48 hours the pairs experienced the constant dependency Charlotte experiences every day. The pairs had to complete challenges whilst linked and go through day to day activities as a duo!
We hope to support Charlotte as much as possible so follow the link to our page if you want to know more about sponsoring us, about Charlotte and about the event! You can donate via our team's collection boxes that they will have on them, or online via the link below!
