WELCOME TO ALL OUR MA STUDENTS

Hello, Masters students! Welcome to the Student Workshop!

A massive goal of the Student Workshop committee is to grow our relationship with the MA students in order to come together and collaborate on various projects in which the Undergraduate students have the opportunity to work alongside the MA students, learning from them and visa versa! Our aim is to collaborate department wide, ensuring all Student Workshop members are able to thrive within our creative platform. While our committee will be constantly thinking and planning various ways we can come together as creatives, we would also love to hear your suggestions. So, if any MA students have a creative proposition for us, get in touch and we would love to see what we can do!

MA X SW FESTIVAL 2021

We are looking for our MA students to come forward with a proposal of a pre-existing text which they would like to direct and showcase.

Applicants can select an excerpt of a play of their choosing and pitch it to us using the form attached. The Student Workshop committee will then consider all of these applications and put together a line up for the festival. Please make sure to add any information you may know about the rights or availability of the script you would like to work with, so we can get started on acquiring the rights if necessary.

These expects will then be performed as part of our online showcase in week six, open for anyone to attend. We will also be putting together a review panel for these pieces and offering guidance through the process with things like an open rehearsal where your peers will be able to preview short sections of these works and offer critical feedback and advice to benefit your productions. The Student Workshop will help to host auditions to find your performers from the undergraduate student body, post publicity for the event and handle production rights.

The deadline for these applications will be on the 22nd January and the show dates are TBC.
