THE DARK STAGE
In a world where profit is worshipped as a god and humanity is considered as a means of production, Therese struggles to understand the changes and new paths that society has taken. In a dystopian parody of theatre, the capitalist corrupted politics and ostentatious morality are exposed, and laughed at. In this new society of fools, cowards and presidents, there is nothing much for humanity, but to be swallowed in its own black hole of fictionality.
The Dark (St)Age takes inspiration and practices from Brecht’s epic theatre and Artaud’s theatre of cruelty. The show aims at re-proposing theatre as a major tool for cultural and political exploration regarding our society.
