Who are The Student Workshop?

The Student Workshop is a performance society based in the School of Performing and Digital arts at Royal Holloway University of London. With support from staff, the society is run by a committee of elected students studying within the department. The Student Workshop is also exclusively for students of the PDA school and has access to departmental facilities including studios spaces and rehearsal rooms as well as the Boilerhouse, Handa Noh and Caryl Churchill Theatre.

The main aim of The Student Workshop is to provide drama students with lots of opportunities to develop their practical knowledge of theatre and gain valuable experience of being involved in a production, both on and off stage. There are four main productions a term (excluding Summer Term) including Midnight at the Boilerhouse, a showcase of new writing and devised theatre. Alongside the productions, the society organises theatre trips, visits from theatre professionals, workshops, community engagement activities and social events throughout the year.
